Hosta "Aoki"
This medium/large cultivar has elongated
heart shaped (cordate) green leaves and grows 25" tall by
about 48" wide. It is in the fortunei species of the genus
and has pale lavender flowers on 40" scapes in summer. Introduced
in 1987 this cultivar was named by hosta breeder von Siebold for
Aoki Kon'yo, who produced the first Japanese-Dutch dictionary
